Worship at Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Episcopal Church is a welcoming, all inclusive community that offers weekly services every Thursday morning, Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Whoever you are, whatever your background, and wherever you are in your spiritual journey, you are welcome here.
There is a service for everyone on Sunday morning beginning with the Rite I service at 8:00 am. This is followed by social time over a cup of coffee, and we’d love to have you join us. A Bible study on the morning’s readings is also available between the services. The 10:00 am service, which is Rite II, is filled with music, and parishioners of all ages share in the leadership of worship. The service begins with our children joining the clergy on the steps in front of the altar for a special Children’s Message. After the Children’s Message, young
people up to age 15 head off to Sunday School, rejoining their families
in time for Communion. This service is also followed with fellowship
over coffee. Childcare is available throughout the morning
for the very little ones.
Episcopal churches are “liturgical” churches which means our worship will have a recognizable pattern week after week. Trinity Episcopal Church keeps the liturgical year: a set of seasons that tell the story of our faith beginning with Advent (the season leading up to Christmas), followed by the 12 days of Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.
The Holy Eucharist is celebrated at each service and communion is available to everyone who wishes to receive.
In addition to the weekly services, we offer seasonal services including:
- Lighting of the Advent Wreath throughout Advent
- A Blue Christmas service in mid-December for those experiencing loss
- Three Christmas Eve services including a Children’s Christmas Pageant
- Christmas Day Eucharist
- Ash Wednesday imposition of ashes
- Holy Week services including Taize music and foot washing
- Good Friday Services
- Great Vigil of Easter
- Pentecost Celebration
- Messy Church – June through September (see below)
- Blessing of the Animals/Pet Blessing – early October
- All Saints Remembrance – early November
- Ecumenical Thanksgiving worship – November
Messy Church is our Summertime outdoor Eucharist / Potluck/BBQ / bonfire service. It is held the second Saturday of the month from June through September. The children lead the service including the readings and a performance of the Gospel. We start with appetizers and social time at 5:30 pm. The service begins at 6:00 followed by dinner and s’mores!
